BARRY MCGEE, 99¢ ONLY TAKEOVER

Legendary artist Barry McGEE (and friends) took over the abandoned 99¢ only retail space on Wishire blvd as part of a pre-Frieze week opening.

As show space is all but plentiful in Los Angeles, McGee and gallery partner Kathy Grayson filled the mostly vacant floor plan with paintings, prints and sculpture of a once was store.

With buzzing fluorescent lights, pegboard aisle display racks and 99¢ branded checkered floor still in place, the public was invited to a truly unique experience.
